Band 8a – SalaryRange £49,480 - £53,414 per annumpro rata

Plus Distant Island Allowance of £1,895 per annum

We are looking for an experienced HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist to manage our Laboratory Services. You will have experience of the management or supervision of laboratory staff and be able to support and inspire the Biomedical Scientists and Support workers within our multidisciplinary team. You will have experience of quality management systems and managing change. Experience or qualifications in staff training and quality would be advantageous.

It doesn’t matter what your laboratory discipline; more important is your ability to lead a laboratory that provides an excellent service to its users and island community.

The laboratory processes around 35,000 test requests per year across Biochemistry, Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Microbiology; supporting Shetland’s Primary Care services as well as Acute and Elective activity within the Gilbert Bain Hospital.
