Call for HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist

The spread of COVID 19 and the current state of the pandemic means we have an acute need for qualified scientists to offer their expertise in COVID-19 testing laboratories in the country. This will mean that the NHS is protected, and people lives are saved. We are therefore looking for State Registered Biomedical Scientists in the UK to offer their services to leading laboratories in the country who are focused on COVID-19 Testing.
We are looking to hire a number of these qualified individuals immediately.

Job Responsibilities:

As a biomedical scientist, you will be required to assist leading laboratories and their staff who to provide Molecular Diagnostic service. You will be responsible for adding technical and approving clinically relevant comments before sending results to external clients on behalf of the laboratories. You will perform a leading role in authorizing results. You will also be responsible for the interpretation of results and take actions according to company
policies and offer training to laboratory staff (MLA’s). Further responsibilities include maintaining quality systems within the laboratory.
Furthermore, you will be required to liaise with senior BMS staff, medical and scientific staff in all matters relating to the diagnosis of infection.

Requirements
You will be an HCPC registered biomedical scientist with experience of working in a laboratory as a biomedical scientist. A good understanding and experience of PCR, qPCR and RT-PCR will be a requisite, so is the knowledge of using a good LIMS system. Experience in provide training to laboratory staff is ideal but not an essential requirement.
