Zenopa are working exclusively with a state-of-the-art molecular diagnostics laboratory in central London currently providing Covid-19 testing services to a range of clients. The long-term vision of the company is to apply research and development approaches, cutting-edge molecular biology techniques and automation solutions to diagnostic workflows for microbiology and serology testing, microbiome analysis and biomarker sequencing. We are seeking to hire an HCPC-registered full-time Biomedical Scientist with a specialization in Microbiology to expand our laboratory team. We are a small company and thus, the ideal candidate will be comfortable with performing day-to-day testing duties, analysis and reporting of results and oversight of laboratory testing. The candidate will also participate in teaching and supervision of technical staff as well as collaborate with the research and development team in design and delivery of new test offerings. The role will suit an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is comfortable with taking on a variety of laboratory responsibilities in the rapidly expanding company.

The Biomedical Scientist with HCPC registration will perform and supervise microbiology testing at Salient Bio. The candidate will be expected to demonstrate knowledge and expertise in this field and contribute to test development strategies.

" Oversight of microbiology diagnostic testing including operations, workflows and reporting
" Produce comprehensive and professional laboratory reports
" Perform day-to-day duties within the laboratory relating to the investigation of samples leading to the release of completed reports
" Ensure high quality analysis, agreed quality standards of service delivery and key performance indicators
" Draft, improve, and implement laboratory standard operating procedures
" Provide professional knowledge and leadership skills to laboratory staff
" Have expert analytical and technical knowledge to perform and manage specialist analytical procedures
" Ensure compliance with all policies as required by regulatory directives, accreditation bodies and local management
" Understand the concept of validation/verification and provide plans for how such work may be undertaken

Currently the Lab operates in Covid-19 testing but is expanding into Serology/Microbiome/STI work in the long-term so someone that could come in with experience in these areas would be a great advantage.

Person Spec:

" HCPC State Registration as a Biomedical Scientist, with continued CPD Completion of a specialist portfolio in Microbiology with two years of work experience post-registration

" Desirable: Possession of Fellowship Class of the IBMS with a Diploma of Higher Specialist Practice in the field of Microbiology
