About the role and our team

Join our small, friendly, forward-thinking and dedicated team in the Pathology department within Manx Care as a Quality, Risk and Point of Care Manager.

This is varied role based in a district general hospital laboratory setting, however we also perform a range of specialist investigations due to our island location. This post offers you a rewarding, unique and diverse working environment that comes with an island setting.

As the Pathology Quality, Risk and Point of Care Manager, you will be responsible for formulating quality policy and the management (including the design, establishment, implementation, development, and maintenance) of the Pathology Quality Management System (QMS). The QMS is maintained using iPassport. One of the pivotal responsibilities of this post will be achieving and maintaining ISO 15189 accreditation in all pathology disciplines.

You will also have responsibility for all point of care services within secondary care on the Isle of Man including quality, audit, training, and clinical governance in association with clinical lead consultant(s), service leads, clinical service users, Pathology heads of departments and the Pathology Manager.

If you have the necessary qualifications and experience, and have a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge in all aspects of pathology, then this could be the perfect role for you.

What can this role offer me?

The Pathology Department is committed to staff development and will fully support your CPD and future progression. You will also have access to all the great courses the Isle of Man Government offer, through LEAD, our Learning, Education and Development Service.

By joining us you’ll be stepping away from NHS pressures and demands, as the Island’s healthcare system is similar but separate to the UK NHS.

Manx Care is committed to creating smoke-free spaces and is ‘proud to be smoke free’ as part of the overall Isle of Man Smoke Free 2030 ambition. As of April 1st 2021, smoking will no longer be permitted on our Manx Care sites. For support and advice on abstinence from smoking, please contact Quit4You on 01624 642404 or Quit4You@gov.im
