A senior Biomedical Scientist is required to join a small, self-funding, diagnostic/research core facility based at Whitechapel. The main duties will include: daily running of laboratory work, specimen dissection, preparation of standard operating procedures, and technical supervision of staff and researchers.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a routine diagnostic histopathology laboratory and be state registered with the HCPC. They must have an MSC (or equivalent) in Cellular Pathology. Experience of staff training would be desirable.

Core Pathology is one of the Core facilities within the Blizard Institute. The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is the largest of seven Institutes within Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry. The Institute comprises approximately 400 staff based in five academic centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c750 postgraduate research and taught students.

The post is based at the Pathology and Pharmacy building in Whitechapel, London. It is full time (35 hours per week), fixed term appointment for 12 months (in the first instance), with an expected start date of July 2021. The starting salary will be Grade 4, (£34,220 - £40,194 per annum), inclusive of London Allowance.
