Head of Learning and Development

An exciting new role has been created at the Institute to join the staff in its central  London office as Head of Learning and Development  

This role will report directly to the Deputy Chief Executive but will also work closely  with the Executive Head of Education and the Head of Examinations and will be key  in helping to shape and deliver the Institute’s e-learning and development strategies.  

The successful candidate will be an experienced biomedical or clinical scientist qualified with an HSD or MSc, with a good knowledge of the Institute’s professional  examinations and their associated portfolios and also of the CPD requirements for  maintaining HCPC registration. This person will be responsible for co-ordinating the  transition of our examinations on to our e-learning platform and for developing the  associated materials to support our portfolio examiners and verifiers. In addition, we  are looking to develop our CPD offering, and the successful candidate will be expected  to identify and source existing and new CPD material suitable for members with all  levels of experience, for incorporation on to our e-learning platform.  

This role would suit someone who is enthusiastic about learning with strong personal, organisational and project management skills. Excellent communication skills are  essential to this role as the successful applicant will be dealing with multiple  stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organisation and the wider  profession. 

Salary equivalent to NHS AfC Band 8a but we are open to negotiation depending on  experience to attract the right candidate for the role.
