Senior Medical Scientists, Microbiology/Molecular department - Multiple Opportunities

This is an exciting opportunity for Senior Medical Laboratory Scientists or Registered Scientists looking to take the next step in their career. Our Microbiology/Molecular department is comprised of 35+ Clinical Microbiologists, Scientists, and Technicians. We operate a variety of automated microbiology and molecular platforms, providing services that cover conventional microbiology through to molecular microbiology and oncology. Our centralised laboratory in Tauranga also supports three hospital STAT Microbiology laboratories.

Qualified Pathologists’ Assistant, Histology

An exciting opportunity is now available for a Qualified Pathologists’ Assistant or Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our Histology team in the Qualified Pathologists’ Assistant - Dissection Specialist role.

You will be working in our cut-up area, using our innovative solutions which include the Cerebro laboratory tracking system. Your duties will include accessioning specimens, preparation (grossing) of large complex specimens as well as routine and urgent histology samples, including stage excisions and biopsies, performing frozen sections, and training of staff (technicians, scientists, and registrars where applicable).
