The Cellular Pathology department at MFT has a crucial role in underpinning the changes to healthcare in the Greater Manchester region identified by Healthier Together, Greater Manchester Devolution and NHS Service Improvement.

This post is for an Advanced Biomedical Scientist – Reception and Cut up Lead within the Histopathology department at Wythenshawe Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for the day to day running of the specimen reception and cut up area including supervision of junior staff. Suitable candidates will be an enthusiastic, aspirational and highly motivated HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with significant post registration Histopathology experience. Candidates must be in possession of an IBMS specialist portfolio in Cellular Pathology or equivalent and be educated to MSc level or equivalent together with a Training for Trainers qualification, or equivalent. Experience in quality and working to ISO 15189 is essential. The candidate should also have proven experience and demonstratable knowledge in relation to current local and national initiatives in promoting and developing Health Care Scientists.
