Senior Biomedical Scientist (Shift Supervisor; Training Officer)
We are seeking a Senior Biomedical Scientist to coordinate our multidisciplinary shift rotation and our training activities in our blood sciences laboratories, consisting of blood transfusion, haematology and biochemistry (with some microbiology out of hours). The role involves working a shift rotation with a focus on late shifts.
As a Senior Biomedical Scientist you will be responsible for the day to day management of the multidisciplinary team and the shift rotation. This will involve managing staffing and holiday allocation, supervising predominantly lone workers and coordinating with the rest of the senior team. As training coordinator you will agree and oversee initial and ongoing training and competency assessment for registered scientists (including MSc projects, IBMS specialist diplomas and CPD), trainees (registration portfolios) and support staff (part I and II certificates). As an employer we are committed to staff development and provide ongoing opportunities for CPD and career progression.
Candidates must be HCPC Registered, hold an MSc in a relevant subject, and have relevant leadership experience in a blood sciences setting. Ideally you would have an IBMS Certificate of Expert Practice in Training (or be willing to study for it).
