Laboratory manager - Cellular Pathology
Residency: 5 years residency NOT required
Hours: Full Time
Salary: £56,000-£61,500 per year, relocation allowance
We are seeking a manager for our cellular pathology laboratory processing 8500 cases per year, with a staff of fourteen, three consultants and a budget of £1m. The laboratory is self-contained and close-knit, with two seniors and a well-established team of scientists and support staff. It is well equipped, predominantly with Sakura and Leica. There is a range of techniques including immunohistochemistry and non-gynaecological cytology. There has been a recent first assessment by UKAS and we are awaiting clearance of findings.
Our ideal candidate will have IBMS accredited qualifications in cellular pathology, be HCPC registered, have established leadership credibility, and crucially, have a vision for development of cellular pathology services in our island setting. We are expecting to move to new accommodation in the next couple of years and the appointee will be required to immediately engage with the design team.
