Are you highly experienced in Haematology and Blood Transfusion? Do you want a career that is not only challenging and rewarding but offers a healthy work-life balance on the beautiful island of Guernsey?

The role requires a high level of theoretical and practical knowledge of Haematology and Blood Transfusion. You will be required to contribute to the training and supervision of junior scientific, support and administrative staff within the IBMS training guidelines. Working individually or as part of a small team you will contribute to the development of new assays, policies and procedures. The Department operates a traditional on call system.

There is no resident Consultant Haematologist, instead the Laboratory works in Partnership with the Haematology team at Birmingham Heartlands hospital. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a flexible approach to work.

You should have significant post qualification experience in Haematology and Blood Transfusion, and be registered with the HCPC; previous knowledge of Dia Med and Technidata products would be an advantage.

Guernsey is part of the southernmost group of islands that make up the British Isles. They sit in the Bay of St Malo, less than 30 miles from the French coast. The Channel Islands enjoy more sunshine hours each year than the UK and with its milder climate; islanders make the most of the outdoors and enjoy the beautiful beaches, cliff paths and island hopping to its neighbouring islands. The UK mainland is only 40 minutes away by plane and 2 hours away by ferry and France is only 20 minutes away by plane and less than 2 hours by ferry.

A relocation package is available, which includes removals, house hunting and rental allowance for private accommodation.
