Senior Biomedical Scientist
The Blizard Institute was established in 2003 and is the largest of six Institutes within Barts and the London School of Medicine and Dentistry, QMUL. The Institute comprises approximately 450 staff based in five academic Centres and one Public Engagement Centre, and supports a combined total of c350 postgraduate research and taught students. The Institute aims to deliver excellence in all aspects of research, teaching and clinical service and has a mission statement of Advancement of Translational Medicine for the Benefit of Population Health.
Applications are now invited for the post of Senior Biomedical Scientist to join this prominent Institute within Core-Pathology, a core facility based at the Pathology and Pharmacy Building at Whitechapel. We are a self-funding department providing histological services to the private sector, the NHS and support for research and teaching both within Queen Mary University and for other external research institutions.
Applicants should be educated to MSc or equivalent and hold state registration with the Health Professions Council. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise a demanding and varied workload.
This is a full-time permanent position. Starting salary will be in the range £32,956 - £38,709 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, pension scheme and interest-free season ticket loan.
