We require a Veterinary Radiographer to join a team of qualified radiographers in this busy Veterinary Teaching Hospital on a three year contract. Applicants should be qualified Veterinary Nurses (preference will be given to Diploma holders) with a particular interest in radiography, or diagnostic Radiographers holding either the DCR or equivalent degree. Exceptional candidates without these qualifications but who have a considerable amount of radiography experience in large and small animals will be considered.
The Veterinary Radiographer will be responsible for producing high quality clinical diagnostic images of small and large animals. The role holder will ensure radiation safety is understood by all workers and is complied with at all times and will also instruct students to x-ray animals to the highest possible standards with special regard to the radiation safety implications.
Duties include diagnostic radiography of both small animals (cats and dogs) and large animals (horses and farm animals). Experience of working in this field would be advantageous, but is not essential as full training will be given.
You must be an excellent communicator, capable of establishing and maintaining good relations with clinicians, veterinary students and colleagues.
Candidates who are successful at shortlisting will be invited to come and spend half a day in the Department to get a good understanding of the role and the Hospital and to meet the Radiography team prior to interview.
