Laverty Pathology is a comprehensive medical laboratory and pathology practice with laboratory and patient pathology collection centre locations throughout NSW and ACT.
We are currently seeking a full time Chief Biomedical Scientist to lead the Serology and Immunology Department based in our central laboratory in North Ryde.
This position will be part of the Laboratory Management Team and will report to the Central Laboratory Manager. This role will work closely with the departmental Operations Supervisor, Pathologists, Scientific and Technical staff in the North Ryde Laboratory, and the wider service of serology and immunology across the state.

To be successful in this role you must have the following:
- A relevant qualification from a recognised Australian institution or a qualification recognised by AIMS
- The ability to communicate effectively with team members both inside and outside of the department using both written and verbal communication
- The ability to work within a team
- Knowledge of current Australian standards relating to NATA and TGA
- Experience with clinical result validation and interpretation
- Experience working with Immunoassay techniques in serology and immunology.
- High attention to detail
- A thorough understanding of internal quality control procedures and external quality assurance programs
- An understanding of statistical based processes in the evaluation of data
- Be highly organised and logical in the approach to problem solving
- The ability to understand and ensure compliance with WH&S policies and guidelines
