Laboratory Workflow Consultant

As we continue to drive changes within our organization to ensure our continued success, we are looking for a Laboratory Workflow Consultant to cover the UK, Nordics and Benelux regions.

This is a remote position that can be based anywhere that allows easy travel across the UK, Nordics and Benelux Region.

The Laboratory Workflow Consultant (referred to internally as ValuMetrix Consultant) will be responsible for the client consulting relationship, driving sales through understanding the current workflow and business needs of the customer and mapping these to the overall Ortho solution for automation.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the Laboratory/ValuMetrix workflow consulting activities in current and prospective customer sites as requested and identified by the UK, Nordics and Benelux team.
  • Develop concept solutions for Vitros Automation Solutions based on the analysis of the workflow, voice of the customer, Lean concepts and in line with Ortho’s business needs.
  • Own and be accountable for the ValuMetrix client relationship, for both pre-sales engagements, and post sales value analysis with the aim of increasing win rate and ensuring retention, teamworking with the account managers.
  • Ability to work at all organizational levels up to and including the executive suite.
  • Influence executive leadership and craft proposals that influence organizational outcomes and create strategic partnering relationships.
  • Conduct workflow analysis, complete client assessments, deliver compelling presentations and document all buying signals and red flags that need to be adopted into the account plan

Skills/Experience required:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably within; healthcare technology, related science or biomedical science. 
  • A minimum of 3 years’ of laboratory experience within the healthcare industry is required.
  • A knowledge of the market, the competition and the ability to compare and differentiate their products with Ortho products.
  • Knowledge of laboratory automation and middleware solutions.
  • Strong consultative skills are required to deliver a positive result for both the client and Ortho, to help influence the structure of the tender.
  • Good verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills, in English. Other relevant language skills would be highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong demonstratable relationship building skills, to aid customer relationships.
  • Ability to competently and confidently handle objections and provide alternatives to customers and colleagues is important. In addition to the ability to empathize with customers.

Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be happy to travel to customer, and prospective customer sites within the cluster (UK, Nordics & Benelux) with an approximation of travel up to 70%.
