Oban is a busy west coast town surrounded by scenic countryside but only, two hours from Glasgow. It has good rail and road links to the major cities and is also the centre for many island ferries. If you’re keen to combine an excellent, forward thinking and dynamic working environment with fantastic lifestyle opportunities, then the Laboratory at Lorn and Islands Hospital has everything you need.
The laboratory is working towards UKAS ISO 15189 accreditation. You will support the lead scientist in biochemistry. You will be expected to rotate within haematology, blood transfusion and sample reception and participate in the on call out of hours system. You will be assisting in the updating and formation of procedures and processes, working with the team both in Oban and Raigmore to bring the laboratory in line with UKAS ISO 15189 standards.
